Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") carefully before using the Law & Verdict website, mobile application (the "Service") or any other service operated by Law & Verdict ("us", "we", or "our")

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

1. Definitions

  • "App" means the Law & Verdict website/mobile application.
  • "Database" means the collection of legal judgments, headnotes, and related content accessible through the App.
  • "User" or "You" means the individual or entity accessing or using the App.
  • "Publisher" or "We" means Law & Verdict.

2. License Grant and Restrictions

2.1 We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for the Permitted Purposes, as defined below.

2.2 Permitted Purposes: The App is for the limited purposes of carrying out:

  • (b) providing academic or educational instructions to students; or
  • (c) carrying out legal research and study in connection with a lawful profession or vocation only.

2.3 You shall not commercially exploit the Database in any way.

2.4 You shall not (and shall not permit any third party to):

  • (a) remove, obliterate, conceal or obscure any copyright notice or other proprietary notices contained in the Database or use the Database in any way that infringes the copyrights or other proprietary interests in the same;
  • (b) modify, adapt, or make any alterations, additions or amendments, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Database or the software used to run it or create derivative works based on them, other than to the extent permitted by applicable laws;

3. Intellectual Property Rights

3.1 The copyright in the Database vests solely in the Publisher. We retain title to and ownership of the original and all copies of the content, regardless of the form or media in or on which the original content is published.

3.2 We also hold ownership and copyright in the software used to run the Service and any other software created by us for this purpose.

3.3 This usage is not a sale of the original or of any copy of the contents of the Database and does not grant or transfer to you any copyrights or ownership interest whatsoever in the Database.

3.4 Except for personal use and in accordance with the Permitted Purposes, taking out extracts from the Database or making copies thereof, their sale or republication in any manner whatsoever is prohibited.

3.5 All Rights Reserved. All content, features, and functionality provided in this app, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio, and software, are the exclusive property of the Publisher or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reproduce, display, or create derivative works from the content without prior written consent from the Publisher.

4. User Account

4.1 You may need to create an account to use some features of the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.

4.2 You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your app usage.

5. Content Updates

5.1 We strive to provide daily updates for legal judgments and their headnotes. However, we do not guarantee the timeliness, completeness of these updates.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

6.1 While all reasonable care has been taken to ensure accuracy and completeness of the Database, we shall not be liable for any mistake or omission in the Database or for any action taken or omitted to be taken or advice rendered or accepted on the basis of the Database.

6.2 The Database is to be used only as a reference aid and is not intended to be a substitute for the exercise of professional judgment by the User(s).

6.3 You agree that you shall not base any commercial decisions on the contents of the database without independent verification of the same.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill howsoever arising suffered by you arising under or in connection with these Terms.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us and our affiliates harmless for all costs, damages, losses and expenses (including all reasonably incurred legal expenses) which arise in connection with any misuse or overuse by you or any other third party of the Database or any part of the database, or otherwise in connection with any breach by you of these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time without any notice.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

10.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Indian law.

10.2 All disputes relating to these Terms or claims arising therefrom will be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of courts / forums / filing authorities at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India only.
